Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 July 2026
These terms govern the use of Ancesvia, a browser-based tool for building and visualising relationship networks. By creating an account or using the app you accept them.
Ancesvia is currently in a free demo phase. There is no payment, no subscription and no advertising.
1. What Ancesvia is
Ancesvia is operated by Mikail Mert Kopuz, Turkey, and is provided as an online service. You do not buy a copy of the software and acquire no licence in it; you are granted a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for as long as these terms apply.
Using Ancesvia requires an account. Your trees are stored in your account and are therefore available on any device; a working copy is kept in your browser so the editor starts quickly.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old to register. Registration confirms this.
One person holds one account. You are responsible for your login details and for everything done through your account.
3. Your content stays yours
Everything you create in Ancesvia belongs to you. We claim no rights in your trees, texts or images.
To run the service we need permission to store your content, back it up and display it to you. That permission is limited to operating Ancesvia and ends as soon as you delete the content or your account.
You can export your trees at any time and keep your own copy of them.
4. What is not allowed
- Entering personal data about others that you are not entitled to enter, or using the service to harass, expose or defame anyone.
- Uploading content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or depicts violence, sexual content or hatred.
- Attempting to access other accounts or parts of the system not intended for you, or circumventing security measures.
- Automating access, scraping the service, or placing a load on it beyond normal use.
- Reselling the service or offering it to third parties as your own.
5. Availability
Ancesvia is provided in the form it happens to be in. During the demo phase there is no guaranteed availability, no guaranteed response time and no service level agreement. Features can change, and maintenance can interrupt access.
Keep your own copies of anything whose loss you could not accept. That is exactly what the export function is for.
The demo phase is not permanent. If paid features are introduced later, we will announce it in advance. Content you have already created stays with you and remains exportable.
6. Liability
Ancesvia is provided free of charge. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence.
This limitation does not apply to damage arising from injury to life, body or health, nor where mandatory law provides for liability. Consumer rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.
We are not liable for content entered by you or by other users, nor for the loss of data you did not export.
7. Data protection
How personal data is processed is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Optional analytics requires separate consent that you can withdraw at any time.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account in the user menu, which removes your content.
We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, in particular sections 2 and 4. Where a breach is minor, we will contact you first.
If the service is discontinued, we will announce it in advance and allow enough time to export the trees.
9. Changes to these terms
We adjust these terms when the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Registered users are informed of significant changes in advance by email or through a notice in the app. Anyone who continues to use Ancesvia after that does so under the new terms.
10. Applicable law
Turkish law applies. If you use Ancesvia as a consumer resident in the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
